PROGRAM 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS RINJANI SUMMIT
Overview:
This 3-day, 2-night trek starts from Sembalun Village and ends in Senaru Village. You will pass through the Sembalun crater rim, reach the summit (3,726m), visit Segara Anak Lake, enjoy hot springs, and view the Senaru crater rim. This trek requires a good level of fitness. For a more relaxed pace, a 4-day trek is recommended.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Trek to Sembalun Rim
– 06:30: Breakfast.
– 07:00: Drive to Sembalun Village (45 minutes).
– 07:45: Register at the Rinjani National Park office, then drive to the starting point (15 minutes).
– 08:00: Start trekking from Sembalun (1,100m) to Pos 1 (1,300m) – 2-hour walk, 10-minute rest with biscuits.
– 10:00: Continue to Pos 2 (1,500m) – 1.5-hour walk. Lunch at Pos 2.
– 13:00: Trek to Pos 3 (1,800m) – 1-hour walk.
– 14:00: Rest at Pos 3 for 10-15 minutes, then continue to Pos 4 (Pos Extra) – 1-hour walk.
– 15:00: Head to Sembalun crater rim (2,639m) – 2-hour steep climb.
– 17:00: Arrive at Sembalun crater rim, camp set up, dinner, enjoy sunset views.
Day 2: Summit, Lake, and Senaru Rim
– 02:30: Light breakfast with tea or coffee.
– 03:00: Start trek to the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726m) – 3-hour walk, sunrise at 06:00.
– 09:00: Descend to Sembalun crater rim – 2-hour walk. Hot breakfast and rest.
– 09:30: Descend to crater lake and hot spring – 2.5-hour steep and slippery trail.
– 12:00: Lunch by the lake, enjoy hot springs (15-minute walk).
– 14:00: Ascend to Senaru crater rim – 3-hour steep and stony walk.
– 17:00: Arrive at Senaru crater rim, camp set up, dinner, enjoy sunset views.
Day 3: Descend to Senaru Village
– 06:30: Breakfast and sunrise.
– 08:00: Descend to Pos 3 – 1.5-hour walk.
– 09:30: Rest at Pos 3 for 10 minutes with biscuits.
– 11:00: Continue to Pos 2 – 30-minute walk, then Pos Extra for lunch.
– 12:00: Continue to Pos 1 – 30-minute walk.
– 12:30: Trek to Senaru Village (601m) – 30-minute walk.
– 13:00: Finish trekking. Transport provided to next destination.
